How common are non-black carribean Creole English/Patois speakers and natives?
Posted by: | CommentsFor all you folks from Trinidad,Virgin Islands,Jamaica Etc. I have only been to Belize,and its normal there.And don’t say Sean Paul and Yellowmon please,haha! I don’t speak it,but I am not black,and some people think that it is wierd that I like to listen to raggae,dancehall,calypso,etc. in addition to salsa, merengue, and raggaeton.
I started listening because 1 I love to dance and wanted to learn, and 2 I plan to major in spanish and my spanish II class sucks and this is my last year in highschool. Because I transferred I skipped a year of spanish last year so for the past two years I’ve been listening to latino music and I want to know, is it really helping me? Will it help me learn spanish, or at least get ahead of the curve for freshman yr of college?
