I listen to a lot of different kinds of music like classic rock, punk, prog rock, etc. and recently I listened to some early metal like Black Sabbath, a little Iron Maiden, and some Judas Priest, any suggestions on newer metal to listen to specific artists, albums are all fine

For instance, you have and artist you like to listen to and not many people know about them. Would you rather keep them as a secret or let people know about them?
You can call me stingy or whatever, but personally id keep them secret, not sure why but I just do. Just want to hear what other people will say.
This doesn’t go to any specific genre of music. Can be hip-hop , Rock, Pop, Punk, anything.
One example I would like to add from personal experience. Is long before plain white t’s were famous. The song hey there Delilah, people would say nah its okay and what-not. Then once they are on the radio I hear “whoa that song is awesome.” Im there like whaat…
Who else hates when people that listen to rock, say that Hip Hop takes no talent?

Time and Time again, I’ve always had people that listen to rock music and whatnot, browse through my music collection and see almost 25gigs of pure Hip Hop, they ask why I have so much rap, and if I try to get them to listen to a song, they say “ugh thats crap, anyone can write a rap song.”
I’m tired of these stupid idiots that listen to Megadeth, and Black Sabbath saying that Hip Hop is easy to write, because real hip hop is not. And what I mean by real hip hop is artists like Nas, Akir, Rakim, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Etc. Not people like Souljia boy. If you ever take the time to listen to their lyrics, there are multiple meanings behind the songs, and they pair up with a good DJ, to make a solid track.
I’m sorry but I hate Rock Fanboys, and if you like rock, then listen to Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs, The Stills, Interpol, and there are a few others that I appreciate, so I’m not biased towards rock.

But playing on a guitar or drumming doesn’t mean its a good song either, it just means you have talent at playing a musical instrument. Not anyone can go in and drop great beats in the studio, thats where Airborn Audio failed, alongside other groups that tried to make good beats.
If you pair up great beats, with great lyrics I don’t see how thats not a real song, you don’t sing and have a computer analyze your voice, or else a DJ would be a large Computer. Rock music alongside whatever else, is people playing instruments well, and having lyrics in the song.
