brazil music

I’m asking this because I was watching tv today on the tourism channel and brazil is so beautiful
i asked my mom if brazil is a nice place to live, lmfao she immediately got an attitude and got upset because I’m leaving at 18 and said these crazy things its awful to live there… too many crime, it’s beautiful but bad place to live
the people there are multiracial and speak portuguese and are color prejudice
i thought that was some bullcrap but she told me they are color prejudice….
when i was 8 years old i had next door neighbors that are from brazil , a mom and dad and their two kids a son and daughter a little older than me in their teens
my mom said they hated her because she is dark skinned and always gave her an attitude and when she asked to turn the music down they did not do so
and because I’m light skinned like them, they would always invite me over for dinners and sleepovers
and let me have their stuff and keep it and give gifts to me out of nowhere
my mom said because she is dark skinned they hated her, and they would love to invite me over all the time but not her
and my mom would get upset by this and not let me go at all
but i don’t think this maybe true they are color prejudice is this?
