salsa dance cla**es

For several years, I’ve been friends with this guy that comes to my Salsa dance cla**. I opened a dance studio this month and have been working from the early morning to late at night for over a month trying to pull it together. I sent out and email to my friends asking for help. Lots of people responded and helped. This guy didn’t, which is fine with me. I understand and don’t expect people to help if they don’t want to. Anyway, the Salsa cla** he is in has been working on a dance routine to perform at the Grand Opening. Two of my male students injured themselves and had to drop out leaving me short guys. Well, a couple of weeks ago, this guy also sprained his ankle, leaving me short 3 guys. I’ve had to pull from my resourses to try and replace these guys with friends that dance and could learn the routine quickly. This was no easy task. I scheduled my grand opening on halloween night and this guys ankle had started to heal. I knew he was starting to heal, but he has been out for several weeks and is far behind. Well, when he got my invitation the the party, he got mad. Apparently, he had already accepted an invitation to another halloween party and says he can’t make the grand opening to dance and he was looking forward to it. First of all, I’m confused. He only knows half the routine, he’s hurt and if he wanted to come to the Grand Opening and dance, he could. If he chooses to go to the other party, then I I think he is just copping out considering how hard we had worked and how much the girls depended on him being there for the performance, but I just said, “okay.” Then he went on to tell me that I should have “consulted” him before he accepted the invitation to the other party. First of all, how was I supposed to know he was going to accept an invitation to another party? Secondly, he apparently goes to that same party every year. I don’t see why missing it one time would be such a big deal. I was fine with all of his lameness until he said I should’ve consutled him and then he started saying that I should’ve called him when I knew he was hurt. Mind you, I did text him several times asking him how he was doing. I honestly didn’t call him because we were busting our b***s all day and trying to work between the phone calls coming in was tough enough. I just wasn’t making any calls while we were working. Plus, he talks on the phone forever and I just didn’t have the time. He’s one of those people that you just can’ t hang up with. He’s mad at me now. I wasn’t mad, but am a little peeved that he is saying I’m a bad friend. Also, the studio has been open for two weeks now and he has YET to even stop by and I’m less than 3 miles from his house. Is he over reacting? Am I? I don’t like being mad at friends, but I feel he is insulting me unfairly. What do you think?
I am married and do not have ANY romantic feelings toward this guy at all. He’s nice, but totally not my type AT ALL.
